Other Manufactured Boards
I put boards on this page if they're the only board I own from their particular manufacturer.
Whenever I see this board...I think of one thing:  McDonald's.  It's got that corny looking yellow and red theme with what even looks a little like a McDonald's "M" a the top.  All joking aside, this is a cardboard Ouija from the 1940s.  It was manufactured by Lee Industries.  Instead of saying "Good bye", this board says "Finis" which is French for Finish.  This is a little strange.  J.M. Simmons put Au Revoire on some of their boards, but that actually means good bye.
This is a Canadian board manufactured by Copp Clark.  It's made of wood with the letters and simple graphics painted on.  It is obviously a Canadian rip-off of the early Charles Kennard/William Fuld boards.  I've seen tons of Copp Clark boards, they all look very similar.  Copp Clark wasn't much for diversification.
This is the Ouija rival, the modern day Cryptique board.  The original run of this board left a little to be desired, but they are now in their second run (which is pictured above) and the board is thicker.  They've also changed the board's font.  If you're looking for a good manufactured board, you'll have a hard time finding one that's better.  I'd probably recommend these over the latest Parker Brothers boards.  You can check out their interesting Website here.  Or, you can view a picture of the original Cryptique here.
This is one of my favorite boards...the 1965 Zolar Enterprises Mystic Genii Board.  It's actually made of wood!  (Pretty rare for a board from it's time era except for the deluxe wooden Parker Brothers board.)  This board seems to be pretty hard to find.  The only other one I've ever seen was at the Museum of Talking Boards.  I especially like the strange symbols in the middle of the board.  The planchette is also very cool...it has a hole in the tip so you can put a pen through it.  It doubled as an automatic writing planchette...how cool is that?
